Why It Was Quite ON The Southern Front

 Tackling a Tree

On 16 October 2020, Otto and a local tree had a run-in, Otto tripped and head-butted the tree.
Think Otto looks Bad?
You should see the tree...

Not a single scratch.

Needless to say, Otto had a bit of concussion and took some time off.
Apart from the tree incident Ottos laptop also developed a headache, every time.
He tried to do some work, it would overheat and just cut out.

After opening the Laptop up, a wad of dust and fluff had built up, on the heat sink, preventing proper airflow, after giving the machine a good clean we are back in business.

Well constant followers, now you know why things were quiet here on the Southern Front.

Expanding an idea

‘Writing New Blog posts are important, as new posts are essential for online success.’

Lets put this differently:

‘Writing new Blog Posts, REGULARLY are essential for online success.’

It is of paramount importance to learn to write well, get the spelling right.
Ensure that the grammar is correct, but more important, does the thing say what it says? That is... is the article true to its intended meaning.

Techniques To Prevent Boredom.

Mental Boredom, or Writer’s Block is a common malady faced by all writers.
It can be over come by using variety, and multiple techniques.

Discover a style that works for you

There are as many writing styles as there are writers, if not more...
There are More!
There are probably two to three times as many writing styles than writers.
Most regular writers have more than one writing style and technique.

Following on, are the techniques I like to use.

Feel free to use it yourself, but most of all, if you do I encourage that you make it yours. Own it! Modify it! Add Your own spin to it.

Separate Writing from proof reading, formatting and type setting.

Method 1 -The Long Blast Writing Method
(My Own Term)

This method I use went I must create something in a hurry,
but I often mix it up too.
I have used this technique from the early days of being online.

It involves just writing, without stopping.
Write, write and write, do not stop, to check spelling, just write and write.

Stopping regularly makes writing a tedious matter, especially if you are facing a big deadline.

Stopping regularly also wastes time and breaks your though pattern, as you mess around fixing things

This is especially true for beginners (newbie writers).

Proof read afterwards, but never during, the actual writing process.
This is traditionally or rather academically called Free-Writing

Free-Writing

[From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia]

Free writing has traditionally been seen as a pre-writing technique in academic environments, in which a person writes continuously for a set period of time without worrying about rhetorical concerns or conventions and mechanics, sometimes working from a specific prompt provided by a teacher.

While free writing often produces raw, or even unusable material, it can help writers overcome writing blocks and build confidence by allowing them to practice text-production phases of the writing process without fear of censure. Some writers even use the technique to collect initial thoughts and ideas on a topic, often as a preliminary to formal writing.

History of Free Writing

Dorothea Brande was an early proponent of free-writing.
In her book Becoming a Writer (1934),
she advises readers to sit and write for 30 minutes every morning,
as fast as they can.

Peter Elbow advanced free-writing in his book Writing Without Teachers (1973), and it has been popularized by Julia Cameron through her book The Artist's Way (1992).

Method 2 - The Short Blast Writing Method
 (My Own Term)

This is a method I use, when:

I must create something, that is almost picture perfect, right from the word go.

I have used this technique since 2016.

It involves combining proof reading, formatting and type setting, as you write.

Basically this technique can be described like this:

Write a paragraph, stop, check spelling, check grammar, check formatting.

Write the next paragraph, stop, check spelling, check grammar, check formatting.

Method 3 - Make A List
(But Beware Of The Follow On Disadvantage)

Making a list of what you want to write about isn’t a bad starting point.

I have met up with a few of its limitations:

The Follow On Disadvantage is that whatever word you write down,

will determine the next word you write down, which in turn effects the next word you write down,

and so on, this can end up being tedious as well as distracting, but it is a technique being taught.

The Governed Structure Disadvantage once you have your list, it’s very difficult to change its order.

So the entire structure effectively becomes governed by whatever word originally popped into your mind when you sat down to write.

Method 4 - Structured Writing

Structured writing is a form of technical writing that uses and creates structured documents.

The term was coined by Robert E. Horn and became a central part of his information mapping method of analysing, organizing, and displaying knowledge in print and in the new online presentation of text and graphics.

Horn and colleagues identified dozens of common documentation types, then analyzed them into structural components called information blocks. They identified over 200 common block types. These were assembled into information types using information maps.

The seven most common information types are:

Concept,

Procedure,

Process,

Principle,

Fact,

Structure,

Classification,

That will be all, for today, I am rather tired, just spent the last 24 hours working.

So I am going to call it a wrap, I will however, continue this thread.

It is the start of content, for the Plebware Doctor Diversity (Plebware Tuition™)

Important Spiritual Message

Please Read This Prayerfully

Switched Back To The New Facebook Page.

Old was nice, new is not better now.

But by Faith in Jesus it will be...

Brethren I beseech thee, turn to Him in prayer.

For without God we will be dead spiritually.

But possibly even dead physically...

Evil times are upon us, we need to keep our eyes on Jesus.

Now more than ever before.

Not because Facebook Changed its layout,

(Which sucks by the way)

But because we as a Church
(The Body of Christ, I am not speaking about the building, nor the eldership.)
I am speaking to you fellow believers, Yes the very Bride of Christ
- Awake Oh Church... Rise from thy state of shock.

Just as a real Bride has the Jitters, before is is fetched by her Bridegroom,
we are trembling now, is it in fear? or Expectation?

We are moving into dark times, both as a country, and globally.

Probably more so as a country, we must keep the faith.

Now more than ever before we are called to be Salt.

To be a light that shines for the Gospel;
To walk blamelessly for the honor of:
The Father, living Christ like lives,
so that we not only become good ambassadors for Jesus Christ our Lord.

But that we become like living Bibles, that shine out to our family,
our friends, our acquaintances, or neighbors, the people in our street.
But also every person we meet or talk to.

Do not be led astray, sometimes we ourselves are the only bibles,
some people will ever get to read.

Besides even if every non-believer had a real bible, and read it every single day.

How could they believe the words contained within the Bible.
If our lives tell a different story, we need to shine.

We need to love, love, love... Even our enemies.

God bless you all. I was especially touched by this brother's message,
Posted on Facebook on the 7th October (Yesterday evening)

Unfortunately it is in Afrikaans, but those who understand the language,
You need to listen to it. It reflects what I too feel in my heart

Sincerely
Otto Brinkmeier

 This Blog and Our Website

We might even Kiss You

(Apologies to Steve! See Credits Below)

1. No Free Lunch

Initially I was given:
One year’s Free Internet access,

which also included a 5Mb free Website.
That was back in 1999…
I soon learned that there was,

no such thing as a free lunch.
Everything had and has a price…

Coming straight out of a Trade,

and right into Website Development…
Was a daunting experience in the very least…

I found the learning curve to be very steep,

best of all, I had to teach myself.

At 36 years of age, madness set in...

I had decided to make a major career change…
I had this idea, as a matter of fact,

when I was out in the back yard of our house,
in Turffontein, Johannesburg, South Africa,

tinkering in the Garden with my mother…

I was not going to waste a Free Website,

nor the year’s Free Internet Access.
Mum was very supportive,

as it was she who bought me my Very First PC.
Incidentally this Free lunch I mentioned above,

came with that first PC…

2. Out Of Necessity and Love.

A friend of mine, who incidentally was also a school teacher,

asked me;
Why I bothered trying to build Websites,

he had accurately pointed out that,

my spelling was atrocious, my grammar sucked…

and in his opinion suggested:

That I pay a professional to do my copy creation….

This was also in 1999.

Needless to say, I strive under adversity,

and the challenge of improving my English,

drove me harder, I persevered,

today I hold a Diploma in Journalism.

After many years of struggling,

to make a decent existence online, I still get asked;
How are you going to pay the bills, if your website does not

bring in a constant income?
Today it has become pretty much a redundant question

– as far as I am concerned.

Besides I know from passed experience,

that one can make money online…
One can make a comfortable living,

or even make an exceptional living of it.

The reason it has become a rhetorical question,

in Juelz and my situation,

We simply have to make a living online,

since I am now 57 going on to 58,

my days of manual labour were coming to an end,

whether I like it or not.
As far a Juelz is concerned,

with his disabilities he too, has little choice...

The most compelling reason,

and probably the important one is:
We love doing this,

from experience and professional theoretical training,
I know this is a secret for real success.

A common thread of all success stories,

in the online business world is passion and the love of

doing what you want to do.

3. Words Are Good, Integrity Is Even better.

Anyone familiar with online marketing, worth their salt will know:

Words Sell, and that having a real honest reputation,

sells even more.

It has taken me ‘Otto Brinkmeier’ twenty one years,

to build my online reputation.
Those faithful ‘Constant Followers’ of mine,

know I am an honest, hard working, individual. (not a honest *)

These patrons have followed my online career since 1999,

most have been Facebook friends,

since October 2007 when I joined Facebook for the first time.

To succeed online today, more than ever;

Requires Credibility and Integrity.
Something we hold in very high esteem.

A quality set we don’t intend on ever giving up on.
Then there is the matter of our Religious Belief,

as Born Again, Spirit filled followers,

of Jesus Christ, we have no choice in this matter,

for we are commanded by the Word.
To be truthful, upright, honest;

Followers of truth who speak no lies.

4. Skeleton Crew

I hope you like our online efforts, Constant Fan,

I suspect that initially you won’t like it,

as much as you liked our original website,

you might even be frustrated with the lack of content,

I beseech you, please be patient, we are working at it.

Being a two man crew, is not so easy, and thus the title.
Skeleton Crew, which incidentally was inspired by:

A world Famous Author,

Who in my opinion is probably the best author ever...

See Credits Below for details…

But back to Skeleton Crew…
In our case it is imperative that you understand,

we are only two guys that work on this website,

I do most of the copy creation, design the graphics,

edit the text, proof read the articles, make our videos…

Why do I do all the work you may ask, well if you read.
The About Section of this site you will see:
Juelz has many disabilities, like poor eye sight and suffers,

From sever epileptic fits, which limits him greatly.

Juelz does however do all our Audio Production.

He also collaborates with me on what we want to do.
Then in effect I do the roll-out…
What I am trying to say is:
Please be Patient Content is coming…

5. Commercial Is Over

Okay-commercial is over. Take us by the Hand

Meaning… Book Mark This Site Now
Browse around and oh if one of us Kisses you,

in a dark nook of the Internet, it is simply
because We Love You – Our Constant Followers

Enjoy our 2020 online presence…

Yours Sincerely

Otto Brinkmeier

20/09/2020 - Building Credibility

You Need Credibility
 - You Need A Website -

Dedicated To My Friend Tim - Ignorance Is Not Bliss!

Image by Gerd Altmann and Christine Sponchia from Pixabay

The Fact Is - 'To Succeed in Business' You Need A Website!

Having A Website

Improves your business credibility: Now more than ever in South Africa, your customers expect to be able to find information about your company online. In fact, most consumers do research online before they make a purchase, even if it's to buy something or find out something from their local shop.

A website can help small businesses increase flexibility, control, branding and credibility. Eighty-four percent of U.S. consumers believe a business with a website is more credible than one that only has a social media page. To be credible and attract new customers, a website can make a difference.

Seven Reasons Every Small Business Needs A Website, Especially Here In South Africa

A website not only helps small businesses promote and sell their products and services, but it also allows them to distinguish themselves from their competitors, especially for customers who rely heavily on the Internet to learn everything about a company. This makes a website one of the most important business assets for sharing information, building credibility and standing out in crowded marketplaces.

1. BUILD CREDIBILITY

You can build a brand presence for your business on social media, but you’re restricted by the platform in terms of design, process and technology. A website can help small businesses increase flexibility, control, branding and credibility. Eighty-four percent of U.S. consumers believe a business with a website is more credible than one that only has a social media page. To be credible and attract new customers, a website can make a difference.

2. FIND CUSTOMERS

Today, customers are constantly searching on computers, tablets and smart phones. A website enables them to find your company and learn about your business and what it offers at anytime and any-place.

In today’s competitive online search environment, content is key. Google has revamped its algorithms to better serve user searches today, including rewarding sites that provide visitors with helpful content and a good user experience. This means that if someone is looking for a product or service that your business offers, your website needs to show up in the search results or you will miss out on potential sales leads.

3. GET MORE CUSTOMERS

Ongoing business success often times rests on your company’s ability to bring in new clients. Reaching thousands of people using only traditional marketing methods like direct mail or print advertising can be very expensive and unreliable. Getting online enables you to reach more people locally or outside of your region while paying less for the exposure—and you can even measure the specific results. In fact, 77 percent of U.S. small businesses said a website is a great way to find new customers.

And, it’s not just about gaining new customers; you can use a website to better serve existing customers too. The ability to update business information 24/7 on the Internet improves customer communication while freeing up time to focus on other business priorities. And with a branded email, you can begin email marketing, driving traffic back to your on- and offline sites and boosting customer loyalty with your brand.

4. GAIN COMPETITIVE ADVANTAGE

Consumers want to be informed about their purchasing decisions— what they buy and from whom they buy. Without a website, you risk losing customers to businesses already taking advantage of the online marketplace. If you’re in direct competition with another business that has a website, your competitor has a clear advantage—especially if they are effectively marketing their website. A website can help level the playing field.

Eighty-four percent of U.S. small businesses surveyed by Verisign said their website is important or critical to their business. More than half of U.S.-based small businesses don’t have a website, so there is no time like the present to establish your business website and get ahead of the competition.

5. GROW YOUR BUSINESS

Many small businesses aim to expand in the market…
You must reach out to new customers...

While face-to-face interactions can be important.

Even if business often comes from word-of-mouth,
A website gives you a chance to “pass your card out” to thousands online.

With an e-commerce store, you can sell items online and ship the product to
customers almost anywhere in the world.

You might discover that customers in a neighbouring city or province,

are interested in your services, leading to a larger service area, and maybe even an expansion to regional offices. In fact, 81 percent of U.S. small businesses say that a website has helped to grow their business. With a website, you can reach a greater number of potential customers and opportunities.

6. Get Needed Investors and Investment.

Around one third (34%) identified insufficient investment as a significant obstacle to growth, followed by failure to keep up with technology (20%) and cyber-security risks (13%)

7. Marketing Your Business To It’s Fullest Capacity.

Clearly, having a website offers massive benefits in visibility, being contactable and trust:

it not only tells customers and potential customers what the business does, but can also provide a sense of the culture and ethos of the business. In an era when many younger consumers want to take their custom to businesses that resonate with their values, this has become a key role of websites.

Most people are misinformed, or have been burned in the past, perhaps by the matter of a badly designed website: many would rather avoid being on the web altogether rather than have a presence that could be embarrassing.

Not only do they lack the skills to run a website themselves, but they lack the knowledge to specify how they want it run, and the strategic skills to integrate it with business goals.

Ignorance Is Bliss

The famous English Proverb “Ignorance is Bliss” comes to mind, as a Web Designer;

I have been in the Industry since 1999, and have reached the point of frustration,
trying to explain why people need a Website, most people just believe what they have heard...
If one is unaware of an unpleasant fact or situation one cannot be troubled by it.

Talking to them you can see in their eyes what they are thinking:
"I don't want to hear about why I need a website: ignorance is bliss in this case"

Seriously ???

Ignorantia juris non excusat or Ignorantia legis neminem excusat
is a legal principle holding ...

The rationale of the doctrine is that if ignorance were an excuse, a person ...

In criminal law, although ignorance may not clear a defendant of guilt, nor is ignorance an excuse, for not having a website. The importance of a website for sales cannot be overstated.

By having an online presence through your website, you are able to reach more consumers.
The more consumers you reach online, the more opportunities you have to make a sale.
... With a website, you can sell your products and services around-the-clock.

Most consumers are looking online for information that will help them make smarter purchasing decisions. In fact, according to the eCommerce Foundation, 88% of consumers will research product information before they make a purchase online or in the store. This buying behaviour trend emphasizes the importance of a website for today’s businesses.

 What Exactly Is Worship?

Image by Jackson David from Pixabay Edited by Otto Brinkmeier

"Worship can be defined as “the reverence or adoration that one shows toward something or someone; holding a person or object in high esteem; or giving a person or an object a place of importance or honor.” There are hundreds of scriptures in the Bible that speak about worship and provide guidance as to both who and how to worship." biblestudytools

For me, personally Worship is all important in having a good relationship with God.
It is the essence of a healthy relationship with God, it encompasses all we do, say and sing to and about God. It is that secret life every Christian should have.

For me it is a Lifestyle, and a daily thing.

"It is a Biblical mandate that we worship God and Him alone. It is an act that is designed not only to bring honor to Him who deserves honor, but also to bring a spirit of obedience and submission to the worshipers." biblestudytools

Very often we have idols that we worship unwittingly.
I wrote an article on Facebook, In our Spiritual Warfare Group on 21 February 2018 - Titled
Plastic and Silicon Idols

Plastic and Silicon Idols = TV, Cell Phones, WhatsApp, Facebook, Twitter, DSTV, YouTube etc...
Read More Here πŸ‘‰Are You Worshiping Plastic and Silicon Idols?πŸ‘ˆ

"But why do we worship, what exactly is worship and how do we worship on a day-to-day basis? Because this topic is important to God and is the reason that we were created, the Scripture provides us a great deal of information on the subject. biblestudytools

The word worship comes from the Old English word “weorΓΎscipe” or
worth-ship” which means “to give worth to.” In a secular context, the word can mean “to hold something in high esteem.” In a Biblical context, the Hebrew word for worship is shachah, which means to depress, to fall down, or to lay prostrate before a deity. It is to hold something up with such reverence, honor, and esteem that your only desire is to bow down before it. God specifically mandates that the focus of this type of worship be toward Him and Him alone. "
biblestudytools

In the Old Testament this involved ritualistic sacrifices, however Jesus taught us its true meaning, which Paul explains so well in:

Romans 12:1 “Therefore, brothers, by the mercies of God, I urge you to present your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and pleasing to God; this is your spiritual worship.”

"We are no longer under bondage to the law, with the burden of bringing animal blood to atone for sins and as our form of worship. Jesus has already paid a death price and made a blood sacrifice for our sins. Our form of worship, post-resurrection, is to bring ourselves, our own lives, as a living sacrifice to God. This is holy and pleasing to Him." biblestudytools

1 Peter 2:9 says that we are a “chosen people, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, God’s special possession, that you may declare the praises of Him who called you out of darkness into His wonderful light.” It is the reason that we exist, to bring adoration to Him who created us.

"The Word of God calls us to live our entire lives as an act of worship (Romans 12:1).
The purpose of this chapter is to teach some of the key principles of biblical worship with music and song, stirring the reader to a deeper relationship with the Father. For many, the area of worship is dictated by their preference and comfort, but it is our desire as an eldership to let the truth of Scripture fashion and shape this expression of our relationship with the Father." - Laying Foundations

The Heart Of Worship

“I’ll bring you more than a song,
for a song in itself is not what you have desired.
You search much deeper within,
through the way things appear,
you’re looking into my heart.
“I’m coming back to the heart of worship,
’cos it’s all about you,
it’s all about you, Jesus.
I’m sorry, Lord, for the things I’ve made it,
for it’s all about you, Jesus!”
(Matt Redman and Martin Smith)

Worship is not just a song, nor can it be reduced to a musical progression: no,
it is far more than that. The very heartbeat of worship is a natural overflow of
our relationship with the Father. Man would love to label and categorize it,
but mere definitions cannot express the fullness of worship as God intended it.
In essence, it is an expression of our ardent adoration in response to His
tender love, a discovering of Him as He reveals His wonder to us. Worship is a
relationship. Let us not be ‘dazed’ by the labels, rather let us be ‘dazzled’ by
our Lord. And remember that we love Him and respond to Him in worship
“because He first loved us” (1 John 4:19). We will now study some of the
expressions of worship found in the Old and New Testaments.

Old Testament Expressions Of Worship

There are several Hebrew words found in the Old Testament that are translated
as a single English word ‘praise.’ Let’s examine these to gain a fuller understanding of biblical worship. You will notice how they flow naturally into the New Testament.

 Barak (Psalm 96:2)

“To bless, to prostrate or to kneel as an act of adoration.”
“But I, by Your great mercy, will come into Your house; in reverence will I bow
down toward Your holy temple.” (Psalm 5:7) This shows a wonderful illustration
of how David, who set an outstanding example of worship in the Bible, would
enter the house of God to bow in adoration to his King. Examples can also be
found in the New Testament, for example, Revelation 4, 5 and Revelation 7.

 Yadah (Psalm 28:7)

“To revere or worship with extended hands.”
A further example in the New Testament is found in 1 Timothy 2:8 where Paul
encourages the people to “lift up holy hands” as they approach the Lord.
 Towdah (Psalm 50:23)
“To give a sacrifice of praise and thanksgiving with extended hands.”

Shabach (Psalm 63:3)

“To praise in a loud tone.”
Shouting is not a sign of irreverence but is welcomed by the Father. Many
scriptures speak of it. As examples consider Psalm 47:1 and Psalm 66:1, but there are many more. “During the days of Jesus’ life on earth, He offered up prayers and petitions with loud cries and tears to the one who could save Him from death, and He was heard because of His reverent submission.”
(
Hebrews 5:7).
Submission and reverence are attitudes of the heart, not necessarily the
silencing of the emotions or the restriction of expression.

 Zamar (Psalm 108:3)

“To worship on an instrument.”
God has made room for a myriad of instruments with all kinds of sounds and
rhythms. We see that our instruments become expressions of our hearts.
The instrument of our body is surely the most important of all instruments,
expressing the attitude of our heart. Romans 12:1 urges us to offer our lives as
a reasonable act of worship and this incorporates all that we do.
See also
Psalm 150.

Halal (Psalm 35:18)

“To shine, to rave, to be clamorous and foolish. To abandon your reputation.”
“David, wearing a linen ephod, danced before the Lord with all his might,
while he and the entire house of Israel brought up the ark of the Lord with
shouts and the sound of trumpets.” (2 Samuel 6:14-15)
David was someone who knew to bow low in reverence, but he also understood
when to honor the Lord with passionate expressions of dance and praise.
This meant that his reputation as a king would be on the line as well as his
preferences. He knew it was all worth it though!

Tehillah (Psalm 22:3)

“To sing your ‘halals.’ The kind of worship God loves to inhabit.”

Summary

Music, dancing and extravagant outward expression were very much part of
Israel’s culture. These expressions were associated with all their social events,
victories and defeats, prophetic activity, coming in and going out. Therefore,
when they praised the Lord it was a natural activity.
There is both the stillness of bowing before the majestic King, as well as the
passion and exuberance of joy as we join with Him in rejoicing (Zep 3:17).
If we give ourselves to the full expression of worship and not give in to our
fears and the pressures of man, we will surely enjoy and experience the
breadth of life that the Father has intended for His children!
